Sometimes, life’s biggest changes begin with a simple phone call. For Allen and Laurie, it started when a longtime friend recommended our kitchen design services. With their children grown and moved out, the they found themselves ready to embrace a new chapter in their lives—one filled with home-cooked meals, laughter around the table, and the freedom to experiment with new recipes in a space truly their own.
Planning for Success – Working With the Client and Our Kitchen Designer
From the start, our kitchen designer met with Al and Laurie right in their home. Together, we mapped out every detail to create a cooking and gathering space that felt both spacious and welcoming. This comprehensive plan went beyond just replacing cabinets and appliances; we coordinated everything from new hardwood floors to practical outlet placements and modern lighting solutions. Our goal was simple: make sure this kitchen would not only look beautiful but function perfectly for dinner parties, quiet mornings with coffee, and everything in between.
Once the big remodel began, we completely gutted the old kitchen—including removing an outdated soffit and wiring that no longer served the Smiths’ needs. By opening up the space and rearranging the appliances, we maximized efficiency and made everyday movement around the kitchen a breeze. Meanwhile, one of our trusted partners jumped in to install pristine hardwood floors, giving the room a warm, inviting foundation.
Every Job Has a Plot Twist!
Of course, no home remodel is without its surprises. For the Smiths, that “plot twist” was a grand piano that needed to be carefully relocated to reach certain areas of the room. But with a bit of creativity—and some extra muscle—we worked around this challenge and kept the project on track.
Soon after, our team returned to install brand-new cabinetry, countertops, and appliances. This was the fun part: watching each finishing touch come together. The once-outdated kitchen transformed into a bright, open space that perfectly reflected the Smiths’ passion for good food, great company, and moments that make life worth celebrating.
